Anna Osmer Andersen’s jewellery is born out of her desire to explore materials and forms in relation to the body.  With the body as her canvas, she plays with both traditional and non-traditional techniques and notions of scale and volume, uncovering new artistic possibilities that inform her design process.  Her work is instinctive and tactile, a response to the materials themselves.

She is drawn to the allure of the past, to things faded and softened by the passage of time.  Twisted knots of rope on a canal side, the cluttered patchwork of fabrics piled high on a market stall, constructions and shapes in the urban landscape – these are the seeds of her ideas.

Anna's precious jewellery collections have a quiet and subtle beauty, minimalist but punctuated with small details that evoke a silhouette of elegance.  For her, beauty lies in the simplicity of the form, perfectly executed.

Born in Denmark, Anna studied Jewellery at London’s Guildhall University before completing her MA at the Royal College of Art in 2004.  In 2012, she and her family returned to Copenhagen, where she now lives and works. Reflecting the diversity of her influences and motivations, Anna’s body of work comprises precious jewellery collections, commissions and special series of art jewellery. Her work has been exhibited widely and has featured in publications such as New Directions in Jewellery (Black Dog Publishing).  In 2006, one of Anna's fabric chains was worn by Björk during a live performance on French television.  (Lizzie Atkins - writer, maker and gallerist at Galerie Marzee)
